Origins

Although poker’s exact origin is unknown, it most likely evolved from other card games. One such game was As Nas, a three-card game that flourished in Asia in the late 900s. In the 1700s, these games spread to North America along with merchants who traveled up the Mississippi River. Rules

Poker is a game of betting and building specific card combinations (called hands). The strongest hand wins the betting pot. Players must protect their cards from other players by placing chips or another object on top of them. Players must also be aware of the different types of hands and their rankings.

Once all players have their two hole cards, a round of betting begins. This is initiated by the mandatory bets called blinds made by players to the left of the dealer.

Bluffing

There are a number of important considerations when it comes to bluffing in poker. First, you must know your opponents and their tendencies.
